Dr. Arno Maurer studied chemistry at the University of Tübingen, followed by a Ph.D. thesis in organic chemistry on the conversion of waste to activated carbon and crude oil. Subsequently, he joined the DVGW research centre in Karlsruhe for a post-doctoral fellowship in collaboration with the Landesanstalt für Umweltschutz Baden-Württemberg. Changing from academia to industry, he became head of the environmental lab at IBL Umwelt- und Biotechnik in Heidelberg and later worked with AMI DODUCO in Pforzheim helping develop industrial coating processes. In 2003, his passion for technical writing induced a job change into product management with Polytec GmbH at Waldbronn where he developed the technical B2B communication and later became head of operative marketing. Also, he authored a range of publications, presentations and a text book. In 2013 he got the opportunity to continue his scientific work at Polytec PT, developing functional industrial adhesives and thermal interface materials for electric vehicle batteries. From 2019 he has joined the Polymerics group at the MNT institute and enjoys contributing his experience to current research topics as well as R&D projects and industrial contract services.
At the Institute for Micro- and Nanotechnology we are engaged in applied research and development projects in close cooperation with industrial partners and other research institutions. Our expertise covers a large range of the microtechnology field and of other engineering disciplines.
